The Fox and the Wolf
It's been pretty quiet around here lately, as we haven't had any visits since Bob left. But just yesterday our new friend Cassidy stopped by for a visit. She's a real beauty. All black except for some small white marks on her mouth and chest, and she has the most striking icy blue eyes. Like if a wolf and a panther had babies, they'd look like Cassidy. She's a rescue also, and a total sweetheart. Mayble agrees.
Mayble gets along well with almost everyone, but these guys are loving each other. She's never been this cozy with any other dogs except Cassidy.
Usually Mayble likes her space, but so far these two are inseparable. Maybe Mayble can tell that Cassidy's "street" like her? Whatever it is, they're both lucky!

WILD THING
Ryan and I take care of dogs as a business, but we also have our own. Her name is Mayble, and she's a wild Taiwanese jungle dog. We picked her up a few years ago while we were living in Taipei, Taiwan from a group of buddist ladies who found her abandoned in the countryside when she was a puppy.
She is a mutt technically, I suppose. But she definitely comes from a long long line of mutts. So, in some ways she is a breed. A Taiwan Jungle Mutt I say. She is the direct result of what happens when dogs are left on their own, to breed in the wild. And you have to admit, she looks pretty wild.
There is a type of dog which is indigenous to the island of Taiwan simply called Taiwan Dog, which are now on the verge of extinction (and no, not because they were eaten). Mayble bears many of the personality traits and characteristics of these natural dogs. She is smart, alert, loyal and a super athlete.
Her pointy ears, curly tail, tiger stripes and agile body are common amongst most Taiwan Dogs and Mutts alike. She just loves it here in Canada, she really stands out. We get all kinds of comments. Our fave so far, "Is that a dog?".

Heart of Gold
Hey All.
Ryan and I have decided to start a little blog about some of our dog friends. We figure it's a good opportunity for people to hear about the wonderful, cute and hilarious things their dogs do when they are not around.
For those of you who don't know, Ryan and myself (Sabina) sometimes walk or sit dogs, and we also work as artists/animators from our studio loft on St. Laurent.
At the moment we are fostering a daschund named Bob Barker. He's a standard, and he's just the greatest little guy. A real champ. He came into our possession through our friend Melissa, who found him on her front steps. Since then he has been trying to find his forever family, and we are happy to have him until he does. He's a sweet boy with lots of love to spare. So, our very first post is dedicated to Bobby in hope that he finds himself a great new home. Any takers?
