So...this week i am rich....

in chocolate!

I recieved a TON of DOVE CHOCOLATE in the mail!! Dove is this brand of chocolate that I used to eat alot of when i lived in Taiwan...they sell the little choco squares in packs of five at the 7-11, but haven't seen that here in Canada. So i was really happy to get myself and lots of lucky friends reacquainted with this brand of chocolate.

The best is definitely the dusk kind...a mixture of dark and milk chocolate. It's my favorite of the lot which also included milk, and dark. The dusk is a nice blend of the two.

I shared most of it, but we did manage to eat all of it in an embarrassingly short amount of time :)

kind of ironic that "chief" here decided to show up that very same week.
He's our chocolate friend here all the way from New York.

We had another BBQ with Buckley :P

...and Mayble of course.

It's no secret that Tim Burton loves dogs (and Johnny Depp and black and white stripes and Helena Bonham Carter). He almost always has them in his films. Spot in PeeWee's BIg Adventure, Zero in the N.B.C, the dog that kills the couple in Beetleguese, the dog salon in Edward Scissorhands...he likes them trust me.
Here is one of his first films. A short he did for Disney called "Frankenweenie". The story of a boy who's best buddy gets hit by a car and he brings him back to life.

our old corner in taipei, across from the buddist temple and the army base.

sometimes i miss taiwan....i miss the palm trees and i miss walking in the jungle.

we adopted our dog mayble in taiwan...she was rescued by some nice buddist ladies in the countryside, and we snatched her up off the street where they were trying to give her away...don't laugh....not to eat...it is ILLEGAL to eat dog meat there FYI.

i wonder if she misses her friends?

this is her boyfriend...he, like lots of the dogs there, ran around the streets and did what he pleased. he lived on the army base with some other dogs, but would join us when he saw us walking in the old abandoned amusement park with mayble...we named him "buddy".

buddy was a typical taiwan "go" (dog in chinese), and if we could've...we would've kept him! but buddy was lucky on the army base, because they took good care of him, even though they let him run wild, he had dog friends and food to eat.

he and mayble loved each other. we loved him too.

miss you buddy! :)

DOG vs. SHARK

So my friend Vaden grew up in Jamaica, and is terrified of my dog mayble. He once told me the reason being that in his hometown he used to see the starving street dogs go into the ocean and drag sharks onto the beach to suffocate them. This made him fearful of all other dogs, and ours especially because i guess she looks like a street dog.

Well guess what, she is.

she's a wire hair jack russel.

the grass is back...

and pepper missed it.

all you need is a stick and some grass.

getting the right photo can be tricky.

you just have to keep at it.

until you get a good one.

Swimming Pointers

Copper came for a visit. We hadn't seen her since last summer so we had a lot of catching up to do.

Copper is a German Shorthair Pointer or "GSP". They're bred for hunting, so naturally she spends alot of time with her nose to the ground.

We hung at the dog park...

and down by the "lake"...

She should give Mayble some swimming tips.

Maybe next time :)

This is Leo and his big cousin Toby.

they look kind of the same....

and play the same too!

one is english and one is french....

but they are both cuties!

Daisy is another dog who i have trouble holding still long enough to get a good photo!

but here she is anyway.....she is a recently rescued husky sheppard x.

California Girl

Well the winter's still here, but some dogs don't mind.

Meet "Baby Charlie" staying with us all the way from LA. She's been hanging out on her days off from shooting a film here in Montreal. Seriously!

Charlie is a mini shnauzer and she's become good buddies with Mayble. She is such a funny little puppy. We love her!

Acting must run in her family....

She has lots of energy, but every dog loves a good old nap in their favorite chair....

or anywhere....!

Sascha is our newest friend, who came by for the weekend. She likes lots of petting and head rubs...and she'll let you know it!

(she likes to rub her head on your hand when you're not looking!)

And finally our shy guy Arthur....our good little buddy (and one lucky dog) has moved on to join his family in Switzerland! We will miss him very much....
